It has also been confirmed that the official resale platform is now live. Customers have another opportunity to put any tickets they no longer want up for resale. Tickets will not be made available immediately for resale, but will be validated and released for sale in June on a sport by sport basis. If sold, the customer will be notified by email, then refunded within 5-10 working days of the ticket being sold, subject to LOCOG receiving the original tickets back. If the ticket remains unsold it will be returned to the customer’s account.

Wheelchair users can check availability of wheelchair spaces and purchase tickets by calling 0844 847 2012, and pressing two when prompted, to speak to the London 2012 Accessibility team.

LOCOG Commercial Director Chris Townsend said, ‘This release of tickets gives people a great chance to attend sport in the popular Olympic Park venues. Tickets for further events will follow in due course and we will inform our ticketing database directly. For those people who are no longer able to attend, or cannot give their tickets to friends or family, they can now use our resale platform. This will enable people to resell their tickets in a safe and legal way.’
